How I work

Sources and opinions
Claims here come with their sources, listed at the end of each article. Short quotes are credited and everything else is in my own words. Opinions are written as opinions. If I looked for something and couldn’t find it, I’ll say so.
Corrections
If I get something wrong, I’ll fix it and, if it changes the meaning, note the correction on the article. Send corrections through the contact page.
Reviews
A review only happens if I’ve actually used the thing. Scores follow the scoring guide. If a company supplied a review unit or a code, the review says so.
Ads and affiliate links
Right now The Phosphor carries no ads, no sponsored posts and no affiliate links, and nobody pays for coverage.
If that changes, anything I’m paid for, or get a benefit from, will be labelled Ad right at the start, in line with the guidance from the CCPC and the Advertising Standards Authority. That includes sponsored posts and affiliate links, where I’d earn a commission if you buy something. Ads are never reviews and never get a score.
Images
Articles use official images released by publishers to illustrate news about their games and products, along with freely licensed images and my own. Each one is credited on the image credits page. If you own an image and want it removed, get in touch and it’ll be taken down.
Fan projects and unofficial software
I’ll write about them when they’re news. I’ll say what they are and that they’re unofficial, but I won’t link to them or explain where to get them.
Independence
The Phosphor isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by any company it covers.
